AGA Intelligent Management System
Introduction
From September 2008, the Gas Aga - will be sold with the innovative Aga Intelligent Management System (AIMS) Option. The system means consumers will be able to adjust the temperature of their Aga to suit their lifestyle.
The Aga Intelligent Management System is a sophisticated programme - but wonderfully easy to use, which allows customers to adjust the output of their Aga to suit their way of life. In short, it means the Aga will sleep when they sleep, and only operate on normal power when needed.
It is available on all Gas heat storage models with the exception of the balanced flue and boiler models. It is operated by a remote control handset; familiar to you with the 13amp Aims controller. This product offers one of the strongest reasons for customers to trade up from an old Aga.
Key Benefits
- The system adjusts to customers' lifestyle, only being on normal power when they want it.
- AIMS can be programmed to any setting - for example a different programme for weekends or switching on automatically after a holiday
- It is operated by a simple battery-operated remote control - which can be mounted on the wall, or stored elsewhere
- It has default settings that have been developed after researching the most common ways people use Agas - meaning most will never need to over-ride the programs - truly "set and forget"
From 1st September 2008, AIMS will be available as an option an all Gas Agas (except balanced flue and boiler models). This will mean that all current prices for these models will increase by £575.00. Please note non AIMS Gas models will remain available. This is the ideal product for meeting the needs of customers who are concerned about the Aga being permanently "on", or for those who leave the house empty for much of the day.
Product Information
Gas heat storage Agas which include Gas AIMS comprises of:
- A heat storage Aga, offering all the usual benefits of the product
- A remote control handset including AAA batteries
- Additional over-ride switch on the Aga
This product is available for 2, 3, or 4 oven Gas heat storage Aga cookers with conventional or power flue only.
Settings
Settings for the AIMS programmer are as follows:
Temperature Modes
There are 3 different heat modes
- Normal - this is the "traditional" Aga setting
- Low
- Slumber
Programmes
Program Setting:-Preset to two active periods a day (can also be set to one programme a day), breakfast and dinner, with a low setting during the rest of the day. After dinner the system will automatically step down to the lowest energy usage position - "Slumber".
Settings Mode
Program setting can be over-ridden. Two completely different cooking times can be chosen. As an alternative, the Aga can also be set to run at normal temperature all day
Holiday Setting:- Set to Slumber (or switch to pilot only) for a long period of time and timed to automatically switch back on. Within this setting, programming can take place for any duration from a day, week, month or even a year
NB UNLIKE 13 AMP AIMS, GAS AIMS DOES NOT SWITCH OFF TOTALLY IN HOLIDAY MODE, THE PILOT REMAINS LIT

Fuel Saving:- Offers energy savings of up to 20% based on using default programs - some customers may experience savings in excess of this.

- How the Aga is used (what type of cooking)
- How long the Aga is used
- Household insulation / window type etc
- Plinth construction
- Floor type
- Full utilisation of Holiday programmes
Product Details and Retail Price
From 1st October the price of a Gas 2, 3 or 4-Oven Aga fitted with the Gas AIMS option will be increased by £575, to reflect this addition of AIMS.
