Fire-valve --- Teddington KBB

The Teddington KBB Fire-valve , as supplied with an Aga cooker, has recently undergone a modification, so as to allow the reset button to also be used as a manual shut-off valve.

The button has also been reshaped to provide a finger grip, as shown below.

This means that the fire-valve can easily be tested during routine maintenance to prove clean shut-off, whilst acting as a useful service valve.

However, since a customer could operate the valve unwittingly, we have revised the users Operating Instructions, so as to give additional warning against trying to re-light a hot burner after resetting the fire-valve.

Where a fire-valve is sited on an external wall, in an exposed or public area or possibly prone to tampering by children, and thus able to be turned off and on, it may be advisable to provide a weather proof cover for the fire-valve.
