Mk1 Gas Aga -- Replacement burners

Wednesday 18th August 2004

As you will be aware, there is a large field population of gas-fired Agas, pre c1987, fitted with various types of mk1 burner assemblies. These need to be supported for the future, but several of the original individual components are no longer available or difficult to source.

Consequently we have developed several burner assemblies which will easily replace existing mk1 burners on Pre & Post 1974 Deluxe cookers, Natural & LP, Open & B.flue.

The burner models and codes are

AG9M998924 Natural Gas Open flue

AG9M998923 Natural Gas Balance Flue

AG9M998925 LPG Balance Flue

AG9M998926 LPG Open Flue

The burner bar is at a standard height and gives equal performance on 2 or 4 oven models. The complete burner assembly is simply unbolted and the replacement assembly secured. A universal gas connection is provided, able to adjust to any slight variations in the gas supply pipe height.

A Maxitrol gas valve/thermostat has been used, similar to that fitted to the new GC3 PF cooker. Gas burner pressure is 10mbar N.G (25 lpg) but this may be increased by about 2 mbar for GEB applications, where a slightly higher input might be required.

Aga MK1 Burner Update

There is a new support plate adaptor fastening supplied for locating the maxitrol thermostat sensor in the oven.

Full installation instructions are supplied with the assembly
