Can you install an Aga in a kitchen island unit

Friday 7th November 2008

A very common question amoung customers is that of whether it is possible to install an Aga into a kitchen island

The short answer is YES  - but with a few conditions

With the introduction of the both the 13amp electric Aga and the gas power flue models an island unit Aga can now be acheived without the need of enamel flue pipe coming off the top of the cooker and connecting into a chimney

It is very important that a full home survey is done at an early stage before any renovation/builder work is undertaken, as the venting pipe for the Aga will need to be hidden under the floor of the kitchen so that it can reach an outside wall without being visible - if a concrete floor / new tiles are part of the new kitchen then the oven vent pipe may have to be installed several months before the Aga

Below we have included several pictures of a 13amp Electric Aga installation which we carried out at a mansion near Lauder (Scottish Borders - 30 miles south of Edinburgh) in early 2008. It is a great example of what can be achieved with the correct planning and installation expertise
